Jag Band Update 11/6/22

Hello folks!

Hope all is well on this beautiful Sunday afternoon where we got an extra hour of sleep and (hopefully) we’ll never have to change our clocks again. Our senior night was fun, and the staff is glad we got to celebrate our seniors in uniform in some way. Thank you again for a great marching season, seniors. We have a great week ahead of us as we move into “no-teach November” involving guard auditions, booster meetings, a playoff football game, and craft fest. And away…. we…. go!

Old Business
Senior Night
Everyone I spoke to thought this went well! It wasn’t exactly what we wanted, but given the circumstances, we’re really happy with how it went. I’m glad all the parents were able to come down and see their kiddo at ground level dancing to some very… um… creative choreography. I would love to keep this going on for future years, so if you have any comments or suggestions, let me know.
Drumline Competition at Lewisville HS
Congratulations to a well-deserved FIRST PLACE at the Lewisville Drumline Invitational this past Saturday. It’s been really inspiring seeing the growth of both the talent and the attitude of the drumline since July. Great job and congratulations to Mr. Solis and his team! It’s a lot of fun being able to see him work and do what he loves with these kids. Keep up the great work, we’re all proud of you!
Upcoming Event Information
Winterguard Auditions (11/7/22 – 11/9/22) (Same information as last week)
All colorguard and interested band students are welcome to audition
The audition will be “workshop style” and take place in the band hall after school.

The plan is to have an exclusive Varsity Winterguard and a larger JV Winterguard.
